2014 Fields Medallists Symposium

AIM

On August 13th, 2014 the Fields Medal winners were announced at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Seoul, South Korea. With this symposium we want to inform all mathematicians and all interested people in Belgium about the mathematics and the mathematicians to which/whom these prestigious prizes were awarded.

This symposium is jointly organised by the Belgian Mathematical Society and the National Committee for Mathematics.

Where and when?

The event will NOT be organised at the The Palace of the Academies!

Instead, the symposium will take place at the VUB, campus Etterbeek, room D.0.05.

The lecture room (D.0.05) is in building D, a glass building close to a tall building (E) with greenhouses on top. Room D.0.05 is at level 0, i.e. downstairs.

Our original plan was to welcome you at 1 pm with another coffee. Unfortunately it was not possible to organize this. The first lecture will start at 1.30 pm, as announced.

The date is unchanged: Wednesday November 12th, 2014.

Registration!

There is no fee to pay but registration was mandatory. The deadline for registration was November 1st, 2014.
